Designed for beginners Petranoff Javelins are great for new and intermediate throwers. They are great for both training and competition. Each javelin is engineered for enhanced stiffness to support the correct flying trajectory. It also protects the thrower as it puts less strain on the upper body and elbow-shoulder area. The PETRANOFF 300 is our lightest weighted Javelin. It weighs 300 grams and is 1700 mm long and has a diameter of 20 mm (66¨and 7.88¨diameter). This is the official weight in Junior Olympics sub bantam and midget age groups. High school athletes of all ages use the 300g to practice as it is lighter and less demanding on the arm and elbow. This weight allows for target practice to gain fundamental basic skills needed to throw far. The lighter weight allows for speed training as well as learning about “the whip”. The 300g is where athletes start the basics then work their way up to the 600g and 800g Javelins.
